I'll be honest, I was a little hesitant on this one. The track that SoLo released, The News, was sick. But when I heard "Mystery Girl", I was fearful that this entire mixtape would be auto-tuned to shit, and turned into a dirty mess. I am happy to say that I was wrong, this tape is, as Jon Kilmer would say, "Legit As Balls". There are definitely a couple tracks I'm not a huge fan of on here, but in all honesty, Electric Playground is all around pretty dope. SoLo's flow is sick, and there are more than a few tracks that I have already put on repeat. There are party tracks and chill tracks, so Electric Playground is well rounded. Definitely check this one out, you will enjoy it.
I had never heard of this guy until just the other day. Out of Salem, MA, T. Ryan does all his own rapping and producing, which is dope. Anyway, I spotted the track, That July, over on GMAD a little while back, and I loved it, so I figured I should probably check this guy out. I went and downloaded his mixtape that he released in February, and it doesn't disappoint. I am pretty sure I really dig every single track on this one. Check out the join that turned me onto T. Ryan, and then check out the mixtape, The Other Side.
First thing out of my mouth when I saw this track, "No way". In case your REALLY behind the times, you need to listen to Rebecca Black in all her glory. Now, back to this track. This right here, is why Olu is one of my favorite artists as of late. The fact he can work that song and turn it into a really DOPE track, shows true skill. Olu raps, and Rebecca Black has the hook but chopped and dubbed up. It's not Friday, but, "Partyin, Partyin, SWAG"
**PLUS**
If Friday wasn't your thing, Olu released a freestyle late last night. This one is tough as hell. Olu really is a multi-talented artist. Enjoy this one.
