Lyrical Exercise #1 - Kam Royal

A little prelude to Kam's mixtape. This is pretty sick for just a teaser, so i'm pumped already for this tape. This joint really shows his lyrical prowess. Enjoy it.

Start It Up (REMIX) - Lloyd Banks ft. Young Jeezy

There is just something about this song that makes me feel tough as hell, like a could just get into a fight for no reason. Remix w/ Jeezy, any more explanation needed?

360 (Video) - Kid Ink ft. Meek Mill

This songs been out for a little while now, but Kid Ink just released a video for it. I'll be honest, not a hug fan of the hook ("360,360,360,360..."and repeat)  but the flow is on point, so i'll give it that. Plus i'm a huge fan of Meek Mill so here you go. Just the track below

Detour (Mixtape) - Hendersin

It's finally time. Hendersin just dropped the highly anticipated mixtape Detour on FNT. It was well worth the wait. A ton of wicked new tracks plus some that others that Hendersin has dropped over the weeks (including one of my favs Sincerely, Yours) . This tape really shows his skills as a lyricist. The rhymes are tight, the flow is on point. Enjoy a couple new tracks below, then download Detour below.

She Will Be Loved - Hendersin

On My Way - Hendersin

Tonight (Feat Brian Stokes) - Hendersin

Download: Detour from FNT

SmallVille (Produced by J. Cole) - XV

Vizzy and Cole? Can you go wrong? XV posted this joint a couple days ago, so i apologize for just posting it now. Vizzy goes hard as always, but Cole produced a wicked smooth, mellow track. This one is dope.

Robot's Can't Drink (FF #53) - E-Dubble

What would Friday be without another freestyle from our man e-dubble. This track is sick. I said it last week, and i'll say it again, e-dubble's freestyles are turning into well produced tracks and i'm loving it. Check this one out, and Enjoy.

Moment 4 Life Freestyle - Jon Connor

My favorite track from Nikki's album Pink Friday, Moment 4 Life ft. Drake, and Jon Conner kills it. This one is dope, so you should defiantly grab it for the collection.

Deaded - Aziz

Real fresh song from Aziz. A real catchy hook, and good lyricism. Enjoy.

Nobody's Perfect - Riley

Dope song. Riley's got a real different voice, and it's refreshing to hear. Check this one out for sure.

Playback / Hope - Collie Buddz

Pretty sure I though Collie Buddz was dead. Not like dead dead, but like gone. I hadent heard anything in years, yet i always love to toss on What A Feeling and just chill. I guess he's putting out some new stuff, and it's actually pretty good.

Playback - Collie Buddz

Hope ft. Demarco - Collie Buddz

Introducing: MDH (Modern Day Hippies)

I posted a song a few weeks back by these guys and thought it was pretty dope. I started to dig a bit deeper recently, got a download of their EP, and i'm digging their sound. To be honest, i'm horrible at explaining shit, so i'll let them explain themselves:

"Based out of Seattle, WA MDH (Modern Day Hippies) consists of hip hop artist Spriggz and producer/engineer Milo Eubank. Together they wanted to form something organic and new. A blend of hip hop, indie, and pop. From that sound Modern day Hippies was born."

This year they are planning on putting together a video and releasing new songs, so i'm looking forward to whats in store for these guys. Here's a couple of my favorite songs from their EP "The Northwest EP". Full tape available at the bottom

Dear Layla - MDH

The Life I'm Living - MDH ft. BBNR!

Fuck College - MDH

Breakfast Talk - The Dean's List

Another taste of the upcoming Dean's List mixtape, The Drive In, coming out on the 20th of February. With every teaser that they drop, i get more and more pumped for this tape.

Good Vibration - Matt Clarke

New Matt Clarke. This song got sent to me last night actually, and let me tell you, I have been listening non stop all day. In case you didn't know (I have posted Matt Clarke before), he's a 21 year old rapper from Arlington, MA (right outside Boston). With this track he goes over Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch's classic track Good Vibrations. This one will defiantly get you pumped today. Enjoy.

The Gift - Malkovich

This one got sent to me last night. From a guy that i haven't heard anything about, but he's been in the game for a while (late 90's). To be honest, it reminds me a little of old Jedi Mind Tricks stuff but less harsh, which is pretty cool, seeing as i haven't listened to that stuff in years. Malkovich is dropping a mixtape next month called AYATOLLAH PRESLEY with a bunch of colabos on it, so check that out later on.

Don't Stop This Plane - The Friendly Giant

I know that This Plane AND Don't Stop Believing are probably the most mixed/mashed songs of all time, but this one is pretty dope. Spotted it over on HypeFloats. Check it out, you wont be disappointed.

Coming Home - Sam Adams

New Sammy Adams. Goes hard over J. Coles track "Coming Home" (i don't care what you say, diddy aint got shit on Cole). One thing that shocked me is that Sam didn't keep the regular hook, he went over it himself. That i think really gave the song a spin which is new and a little bit fresh. Enjoy.

Gone Til November (Mixtape) - Justin W.

I'm a bit behind (probably about 12 hours) behind the release of this one, but it's sick. I have been waiting for this one, and Justin W. has been working tirelessly on it. Well worth the wait. Gone Til November has a couple tracks that hes released over the months, but a ton of new tracks, all equally as good. J is going places. I put a couple new tracks up here. Grab the whole tape at the bottom

All In - Justin W.

Enough - Justin W.

Download "Gone Til November"

Comes To An End - Cam Meekins

Wicked new track from Cam Meekins. I've been grabbing his stuff for a little while now, and let me tell you, he keeps getting better with each joint. Check it out and Enjoy.

Your Own Supply (Video) - OnCue

I have been waiting on the edge of my seat for this video. Cuey has been putting it together for a while now, and has just now released it. It's dope. Very enjoyable video, seriously. In a world where party videos are the norm, it's good to see some thought put into a good video for a great song.

The Dream - Loggy

Sick new track from Loggy. Wicked upbeat tempo that could be rocked at a party, but still has solid lyrics. Grab this one for your playlist for sure. Enjoy

Sunday, January 23, 2011

Hasta La Vista - Fortune Family ft. OnCue

New song from Fortune Family. This one is pretty dope, seeing as me (+ most of the blogging world) have been waiting on a new joint from these guys after Take Me Away. Cuey kills his verse, and i'm even more pumped for new stuff from him. Enjoy.

Saturday, January 22, 2011

Miss Temptation - Phil Ade

Chill, but enjoyable joint. A little bit haunting. Haven't heard much of Phil Ade, but i'll be checking out for stuff like this.

Imagine (Produced by Xaphoon Jones) - Theodore Grams

Dope song from a guy that I have never heard of. Xaphoon Jones (in case you didn't know, he's the producer in the team of Chiddy Bang) does his thing on this one.

Wings - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Another amazing song from Producer/Rapper combo Ryan Lewis & Macklemore. It's the first single for 2011, and it is heavy. Extremely powerful song, but very enjoyable. I'm looking forward to seeing what these guys do this year. Check it out, and Enjoy.

Believe Me - Meek Mill ft. Dave Patten

DOPE AS HELL! I first heard of Dave Patten a couple days ago with How Good. It's been on repeat since then.  This is about to join it. Download link below, or support some great artists with iTunes

Please No More (VIDEO) - Millie Mag

To be honest, this one is a little bit older (the beginning of January) , but i was just introduced to it. A freind of mine sent me a song by Milli Mag, and i really liked the sound of him. Wicked song. I checked out his mixtape "Home Grown Homie" and it was pretty dope. Will be watching out for Millie Mag.

If you like the sound, like i did, grab his mixtape (click album cover to DL from DatPiff):

Make Like A Tree (FF #52) - e-dubble

52 weeks. wow. e-dub has been pumping out a new freestyle every week for over a year. it's ridiculous. i feel as though they have been slowly evolving into true songs and not a freestyle as he seems to put more work into each following week. big horns on this one, and of course big flow like always. Enjoy

End Of The Week (Video) - Dean & Ravo

Last week I posted this song. Today, Dean & Ravo posted a video for it. It suits the song perfectly.

Cinderella Man - Kinetics & One Love ft. Man-U-Ill

New song from Kinetics & One Love. This one is DOPE. Their lyrics never cease to amaze me. Plus Man-U-Ill is tight on the track. This one sounds wicked in the headphones, but i think thats just any Kinetics & One Love song. Enjoy

Sign Of A Master (I'll Rise) - Pries ft. J. Carey

I posted a song by Pries a little while back, STFU, and people seemed to jump on it. So now i give you, freshly picked from Pries' facebook, a new song. His rapping is on point. Enjoy

Whip My Hair (Freestyle) - Trey Palms

I vowed I would never enjoy any sort of remix, cover, or even sample of this awful song. I guess I am going back on my vow. Trey kills it. He gets rid of any sort of Willow Smith on the track, and honestly, makes it his own. After a gem like his While You Were Sleeping mixtape, i'm excited to see whats up for 2011.

100 Million Miles - Justin W.

Do i even need to explain this one? If you have ever been to the site, you know J. Another dope joint, and now i'm even more pumped for his "Gone Till November" mixtape that he's dropping on the 25th.

Movin' Out (Video) - SoLo

I just got hit with this one a little while ago. A dope new comer, out of Long Island. He's a freshman at Hofstra University, and pushin out songs like this, I am impressed. SoLo is planning on dropping an album sometime late spring, and i'm looking forward to it. I'll be sure to keep you all updated with him. Enjoy

Born in '87 - Gilbere Forte

Wicked track. Feels tough, but smooth. I think it's the big band feel on the beat.

Dreams Up - Hoodie Allen

Hoodie just posted this on his site. I've been waiting for a new track since i grabbed a copy of his Pep Rally mixtape. Sounds a bit more mature than his other tracks, and it sounds great.

Future Of Music - Kixxie Siete & Robby

Another track thats a bit older, but this one got lost in the mix over the holidays. Spotted it over on GMAD. Enjoy

Letting Go Of Your Love - Mochi Beats

Ok, before you get upset, i know this is a little bit of an "older" (a month maybe) song, but it popped up on my ipod on my way to class today. I then realized i hadn't shared it. Nelly + Nicki Minaj + Sean Kingston. Mochi kills the mashup.

Irish Celebration (Video) - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

I have been waiting on the edge of my seat for this video to be released. Mack and Ryan Lewis deserve mad props for this one, I've seen (via facebook) all the work they have put into this video, and let me tell you, I appreciate it. A dope song with a video to match. Enjoy

Monday, January 17, 2011

Cars Money And Fame - Timeflies

Timeflies is at it again. I've been waiting for a new joint, and let me tell you, i am not disappointed. The guys kill the track as always. This one will be on repeat for a while. Enjoy.

Exit Row - Wiz Kahlifa

I've been a fan of Wiz for literally years, since he was still doing tracks in his basement. But lately, i hate to admit, Mr. Kahlifa has let the fame go to his head, and has pumped out some shitty (yes, i said it, you can hate on me) tracks the last year. I think if this track is saying anything, i think it says Wiz is ready to get back to skills he showed years ago.

Roman's Revenge (REMIX) - Nicki Minaj ft. Lil Wayne

My girl Nicki comes back with a remix of the track Roman's Revenge. Wayne just posted this one on his facebook and twitter, and he kills it like always. Wayne is back.

Watch Me Now - Hendersin ft. Colin McLaughlin

Hendersin just released this one on facebook. Wicked song, starting to really feel Colin McLaughlin, and Hendersin is on point like always with his flow.

You Can Run - Bryan Greenberg ft. Kid Cudi

Real mellow acoustic song. Spotted this popping up around the web so i figured i would give it a listen. Real chill, and could stand by itself with Cudi's verse. Kid Cudi, i think, will bring a good song like this into mainstream. Enjoy.

The Hangover (VIDEO) - Shawn Chrystopher

To be honest, when i first heard this one, i really wasn't a fan. But i gave it another chance and it's started to grow on me. Give it a chance and it'll surprise you.

The EPiphany (Mixtape) - Erik Paul

About time! Erik Paul has finally released his mixtape, so i can finally get back from the edge of my seat from waiting. I've been excited for this one, and let me tell you, i am not disappointed. Most of the tracks of his i have posted on here in the past weeks are all on the mixtape, but it has to many more very good songs. I've posted a few new ones. + grab the whole tape at the bottom. Enjoy.

When I Fall - Erik Paul

Letter To The Rap Game - Erik Paul ft. Blue Foundation

Half A Life - Erik Paul ft. Christina Perri

Download "The EPiphany"

Ain't Comin Down - MDH (Modern Day Hippies)

\

Now that is a cool sound. The beat and flow are on point, the track is mellow and soulful, and the hook is catchy as hell. These guys are out of Seattle (a lot of good ones coming out of there lately), and i will definatly be on the look out for these guys.

just the track:

Parade - Ground Up

"New" Ground Up. I put the quotes there because it is a previously unreleased track these guys put together a while ago. This one is a banger, so turn it up.

Humdrum Town - Theophilus London

I haven't heard anything about this guy, but his flow is good. I'll be watching for him for sure

Walk Away (Remix) - The Script ft. B.O.B.

Once again, this one could be on the radio for sure. Has HUGE mainstream appeal. Some Script (who sound a little like coldplay if you ask me) and of course B.O.B.

I Don't Know - 3Mill ft. Wale & Apollo

Tough. That is what this song is. Wale's flow is fire like always. Like I said, 2011 is Wale's year.

UPDATE* Balance - Sara Tavares & J.Cole

To be honest, this is a first. Spotted this one on The Kollection, and not sure who is rapping on the track, but this song is amazing. Defiantly something to end the week and relax with. Enjoy, because i did.

Love Shown Now - D. Julien

Real cool song. Will defiantly be watching for new stuff by D. Julien.

End Of The Week - Dean & Ravo

Honestly, this is a very enjoyable track. Posted a video by these guys a few weeks back, and now found this song. Very appropriate, because it really is the end of the week, so have a good weekend.

Is It Cool to F**k? - Marky ft. XV

Chill track. Never heard of Marky, but as always Vizzy kills his verse on the end of this one

Dreamin - Julius Myth

I said i would be on the hunt, and i found it. A fresh joint from Julius The Myth. This song is wicked. It's relaxing and exciting at the same time. Don't ask me how, just listen.

My Oh My (Video) - Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Posted this song a little while ago now, and now Mack and Ryan Lewis put together some wicked visuals for it.

How Good (Video) - Dave Patten ft. Meek Mill

God dammmm. This has a wicked sound. Dave has the whole acoustic/hip-hop sort of thing that someone like PJ simas has, but his voice is much rougher. PLUS meek mill on the track. What? Enjoy

I'm On It - Justin W.

Dopeness from Justin W again. Not that i expected anything less. Wicked hook on this joint, and J's flow is wild as always. Enjoy.

Space Rivers (Freestyle Friday #51) - E-Dubble

Another dope freestyle from e-dub. Again, it is so well put together that it doesn't even sound like a freestyle. Keep it up.

Wednesday, January 12, 2011

Coconut Tree - Mohombi ft. Nicole Sherzinger

I'll be honest, not the usual kind of thing i post here on HotLeaks, but i figured this one has main stream radio written all over it. I wanted to hook everyone up before it goes wild.

Jetpack Shit - Olu & Sucka Free CJ ft. Colbie Caillat

Wicked song. Real chill feel to it. Love it. You will too. Enjoy

War (Mixtape) - Young Prince

Wicked tape from Young Prince, an up and comer out of Washington, DC. I spotted his name dropped here and there, and finally i decided to check him out. I downloaded his newest mixtape, and let me tell you, i'm impressed. He's got a sick sound, and real good feel for the music on the track. As always, heres a couple of my favs + the whole tape.

Good Vibrations - Young Prince

Out Of The Blue - Young Prince

Strange Times - Young Prince

the whole War mixtape:
Download

STFU - Pries ft. Kid Ink

HA! This song is tight. Honestly it's pretty good. By a new artist out of Cali, and by the sounds of this track, i defiantly wanna hear more stuff by him.

Rise - Matt Easton

New Matt Easton. Way back when this little site was just starting, i posted a song by this kid. I loved the song, Live Life, and i swear to god, i listed to it on repeat for weeks. This one has the same feel to it, but also feels matured, which is good. Enjoy.

For You - Hendersin

New Hendersin. Dope stuff. I said i would be watching for him, and here he is, stepping up to the plate. Real tight song to just sit back and vibe to. Enjoy

The Realness (Video) - Zac White

Another video out for one of my favorite songs in recent times. I threw up Zac's mixtape a month or so back now, and people went pretty crazy for it. I figured i would treat you with his new video for The Realness.

Just the track:

Salute (Video) - Machine Gun Kelly

Alright, i know it's been a little while since the last posts, but I've been packing and such, getting ready for classes so it's been a little hectic. I figured I should come back with a little bang, so i spotted this one online. MGK released an official video for his tough as nails song "Salute" and it's fresh as hell.

Just the track:

Fly Away - Bugus

Dope song. Spotted this one over at FNT. Wicked hook that goes amazing with his rapping. Defiantly grab this one.

(new player format, just play the song, then click "Hulkshare Download" to download)
