West Side Stories (Mixtape) - Upper West

Wow. Just wow. Here we have Upper West's amazing debut mixtape. I have been a fan of these guys since back in May when they first dropped their track Ladida. Every track that they have ever dropped has been fantastic, and they all are in regular rotation on my iPod. They have such a great sound that to me, they have been around forever, and are essentially seasoned vets to the game. In actuality, West Side Stories is their debut mixtape, and what a way to debut. Overall, this tape is unreal. Filled with non stop great tracks that I guarantee you will have on repeat. I actually enjoyed this one so much that I really had trouble picking out a few to call my favorites. So here are a few tracks for you to enjoy before you download the whole tape. Enjoy.

Ass Back Home (Timeflies Tuesday) - Timeflies

After a couple weeks on the road, Timeflies is finally getting their asses back home. To celebrate, they give us an amazing Timeflies Tuesday where they remix, you guessed it, Ass Back Home. Rob gives the track a refreshing twist and mix, and Cal spits perfectly over top. For the video, it's the normal shots of Cal freestyling (this time, on the tour bus), but they decided to slice in some shots from their shows, which is pretty dope. Anyway, I know you already pressed play, and probably didn't even read this far, so enjoy.

The Rhetorical Tradition (Mixtape) - Matt Easton

I love when this happens. Now, I have been a fan of Matt Easton for a long while now. I feel like I've said this a lot lately, but he was actually one of the first artists who I posted back when HotLeaks first started back in '10. I'm a huge fan of his sound, and I feel like every track that he's dropped has been really enjoyable to listen to. The first joint I heard was Live Life, and from that point on, I was a big fan. The only problem is that Matt always seems to fall just under my radar, which really sucks because he's such a great artist. What I am getting at in a really round about way is that I really had no idea that this mixtape was coming, so it was a pleasant surprise when I saw it earlier today. I just got a chance to sit down and give it a listen, and I was impressed. An all around really solid mixtape from Matt, that really showcases his maturity and growth as an artist. Below are a few of my fav, then you should definitely go download the whole tape. Enjoy it.

Comets - Marc Goone

My man Marc Goone is back with another unreal track. This is another drop off his upcoming tape Halfway To Nowhere, which is on track to be one of the tapes that I'm most excited for this year, so far. Comets is all about the daily grind of life, along with all it's up and it's downs. A great track from Goone that is clearly written with a lot of heart. Plus, this video is extremely well done and really captures the feel of the track, which as you all know, I love. Anyway, enjoy the new ish from Goone, and be on the watch for Halfway To Knowhere, coming soon.

Walking Alone (Big Z Remix) - Dirty South

I'll end the night with a little electro banger for you. Some band new Big Z. This time he takes the heavy banger Walking Alone by Dirty South and gives it more of an upbeat electro feel, which is dope if you ask me. I am a huge fan of what Big Z does, whether it's creating unreal remixes of hip-hop and pop tracks (his Can't Get Enough mixtape) or mixing great tracks like this. So, enjoy the great new track, and check out Big Z.

I'm Good - Grynch ft. Sol

It's been a while since I have posted any new stuff from Grynch and for that I'm sorry, because he has seriously been on his grind. This is his latest gem and he actually teams up once again with the extremely talented Sol. In case Grynch is a new name to you, he's a great artist based out of Seattle and has been in the music game for a few years now. He's got an unreal flow and fantastic lyricism that you just cant help but enjoy. This joint is off his upcoming tape Perspective, which is actually dropping this friday, so I'm pretty pumped for that. Anyway, enjoy the great new track.

What Did You Do - Chiddy Bang

A drop from Chiddy Bang that wasn't on their Breakfast album. Now, I'll be up front, the hook on this is just brutal. The flow from Chiddy is unreal and Xaphoon's beat is tight so I guess it makes up for the crappy hook, which is probably why I keep pressing repeat on this one. Enjoy.
