Heavy (Mixtape) - CJ Trillo

Now this is a fantastic project. I have been waiting anxiously for CJ Trillo to release this one, and let me tell you, it was worth every second that I waited. Heavy is an amazing mixtape that is just filled with great tracks, all of which have gorgeous lyrical content and just superb production. I remember when I first heard CJ (back when he was Sucka Free CJ) over 2 years ago through Olu, and I said then that he had a lot of potential. Since then, his lyrical ability has just blossomed, and his sound has really matured into something great. That being said, it was actually pretty hard to choose which tracks I wanted to post here, because Heavy is one of those mixtapes where every single track is fantastic. Anyway, I'll stop talking about it and just let you listen for yourself. Enjoy.

Call This Home - CJ Trillo

Comeback Kid - CJ Trillo

Download: Heavy

Last Hope (Remix) - Mayo

Mayo just keeps getting better and better. This time he jumps on Drizzy's beat, and he actually manages to hold his own. He's got great heartfelt lyricism, and some real smooth flow. Enjoy this one.

We Done It Again - Young Jeezy

A couple days late, but Jeezy dropped this one in celebration of Obama winning the election.  Enjoy.

I Knew You Were Trouble (Remix) - Taylor Swift ft. Sammy Adams

I would have NEVER guess that this would happen. Sammy Adams jumped in and did a reworking of what seems like everyone's favorite track right now, Taylor Swift's I Knew You Were Trouble. He mixed the beat and then added his own verse, and it actually turned out pretty good. Check it out.

Bittersweet (Prod. by Skrillex) - Ellie Goulding

Kind of an appropriate title for this one. A breakup, but a really great track. I will say that I am kind of glad that Skrillex and my girl Ellie Goulding split, because maybe I have a chance with her now. Anyway, enjoy this one.

Sign Language (Video) - Kinetics & One Love ft. Wynter Gordon

Wow. Just plain wow. I've been waiting a long time for this one. This is actually the very first song by Kinetics & One Love that I ever heard, and listening to it then gave me chills, so I became a huge fan. I still listen to this track today, and it STILL gives me chills every time I hear it. You honestly should know this song by now but if not, it's a gorgeous yet tragic story about love that is left unexpressed. A truly amazing song by truly amazing artists. That all being said, when I saw the teaser that these guys dropped a couple day ago, I got a little worried. With such a song that's driven by a heartfelt story like this, it needs a video that tells that story. The teaser didn't seem to allude to any "story", so like I said, I was worried. When the video was finally released, I realized that all of my fears were extremely misplaced. K&OL came through with a spectacular visual treatment to accompany this truly amazing song. Anyway, enough of me talking, enjoy the video.
