Brand New Bike (Mixtape) - Sam Lachow

How am I just hearing about this? Sam Lachow is a fantastic artist based out of NY and Seattle, and he has an amazing sound. Now, I know everyone and their sister is saying that they combine genres with their music, but lets be honest, the lines between genres have been long since blurred in my mind, but this one is still a first for me. Sam Lachow's sound on this mixtape is a combination of hip hop with a ton of funk / jazz influences. It almost sounds as if Sam went down and took all the soul from the NY jazz clubs, and then put it into these tracks. From what I'm told, he actually didn't use any samples, he just got local musicians to come and record some instrumentals and vocals, which is pretty fantastic if you ask me. Anyway, this is definitely one mixtape you should check out. Enjoy it.

Groove (Video) - The Foodchain

A simple but dope video from The Foodchain. This is another track off their sick album BRUNCH, which in case you didn't check it out already, I included  link to below. The guys just roll through a diner, f*ck shit up, and then jack a car and peel off. This video was extremely well done, and just straight enjoyable to watch. Enjoy it.

We Got It Wrong (Xaphoon Jones Remix) - St. Lucia

Wow. I've said it before, but Xaphoon can do no wrong. This track is just plain gorgeous. Xaphoon Jones takes a great track from St. Lucia (which to be honest, I hadn't heard before this) and gives it a fantastic feel. Two great things came from this track for me. The track is amazing so that's nuber one, and number two is that I have been introduced to an artist that I probably wouldn't have heard about otherwise, St. Lucia. Enjoy this one.

Echo Boom (Mixtape) - Cris Cab

This is pretty good. Cris Cab drops his highly anticipated mixtape, Echo Boom, and it takes me right back to summer. Now, I'll be honest, this is a little different than what I normally post, but great music if still great, no matter the genre. Anyway, Cris teamed up with Wyclef for a bunch of stuff on this tape, and you can really hear the influence. This is really a perfect tape for you to just throw on and relax too. I can see this one being on repeat while I study for midterms. Enjoy this one.

Night Sky - Beau Young Prince

Beau Young Prince is back once again with a great new track. This is actually his first drop since his great mixtape, D.O.P.E. Collective he dropped about a month ago, and it's the first single off his upcoming tape, Dream Catcher. YP jumped on this Star Slinger track and did amazing things with it. It seems with each new track from him, his sound is growing and maturing into something fantastic. I loved his sound back when I first heard him over a year ago now with his War mixtape, and since then, I have continued to be a huge fan purely because BYP is a real artist. He is always tweaking and growing with his music, but he manages to maintain the same great sound. Anyway, this is one you will enjoy, so check it out.
