Name On My Heart - Shawn Chrystopher

So glad I gave Shawn Chrystopher another chance. When I first heard of him, it was with his song Hangover, which was real cheesy. Catchy as hell, but full of cheese. After hearing that, I thought that was all his sound was. I'm very glad I decided to give him another go, because he releases tracks like this. Once again, real catchy, but Shawn's got a real cool flow all over this, which I really like. Enjoy it.

Lotus Flower Bomb - Wale ft. Miguel

Wale dropped his first single off his highly anticipated upcoming album, Ambition. This joint is real smooth, real mellow, and really showcases Wale's flow. I may have lost a little faith in Wale, because his sound started to waiver a bit (In my opinion at least), but now I can see I was very wrong. Wale is as dope as always. Get pumped for 11.1.11, Ambition, coming soon.

The Enforcer - 50 Cent

Yes your read that right. 50 Cent. In the flesh. Well, not in the flesh, but a new track from the man himself. Every time I hear his voice it send me right back to Jr. High. In Da Club was the shit in the day. Now, this track, to be honest is not amazing, but Fidy grabs The Cataracs for this electro infused beat, so it is pretty bumpin. Check it.

Mercedes Benz - G-Eazy ft. J

He's so lyrical. G-Eazy has such a great ability to tell stories on his tracks, but still keep it all about the great music. I know, that sounds kind of weird, but seriously, if you can blend great lyrical ability and story telling skills, with amazing melodies and beats, you are a fantastic artist in my mind. And G-Eazy is a fantastic artist. This time he grabs a sample of Janis Joplin, which is pretty dope. Enjoy the new track.

No Stress For A G (Luv Deluxe) - Split Second

So dope. I am officially a huge fan of Split Second. They have such a wicked, original flow, which everyone knows I love. They also manage to get on beats that are always catchy as hell. Anyway, new track, so enjoy it.

This Is Not A Mixtape 2 (Mixtape) - Kiddo

This guy's got some talent. Kiddo, in case you miss my original post, is a great artist out of NY. He's been in the music game for a while now (9 years), and this is actually his 9th mixtape. That's pretty crazy for a 21 year old artist. Anyway, This Is Not A Mixtape is pretty solid all around. Kiddo has a real cool sound, and has a lot of raw talent. Check out a couple of my favs below, then cop the tape.

Falling Stars In Florence - Kiddo

Dear Younger Me - Kiddo

My Mothers Keeper - Kiddo

Download: This Is Not A Mixtape 2

Change Your Life (Video) - Over 21

Great new video from Over 21. This one is for their smooth track Change Your Life, off their recent album, The Morning After. Real clean visuals for a dope track. Enjoy, and if you haven`t, cop that album.

Predictions (Timeflies Tuesday) - Timeflies

I'm still drooling over The Scotch Tape, so I haven't noticed life without Timeflies Tuesday. Cal and Rob come back with this unreal freestyle of Cal's "Predictions" of upcoming NFL games. Rob grabs the CBS NFL sample plus some All I Do Is Win, and puts together an amazing beat, and of course, Cal absolutely tears it apart with his dope lyricism. I love #TimefliesTuesday.

Rock Steady - Cato

Fresh off his latest mixtape release, Cato drops a brand new track. This time, it's off his upcoming NEW mixtape, HiPOP, which from the sounds of this track, will be dope. Cato kills the flow, and spits fire. Check it out, and enjoy.

Jagger Bomb (Video) - 3LAU

3LAU drops some visuals to accompany his wicked track Jagger Bomb, from his recent mixtape,  Dance Floor Filth. They suit the track perfectly. It get's crazy when the track gets crazy, and mellows out when the song does the same. Enjoy, and if you haven't already, download Dance Floor Filth.

Mo Free Mo Fallin' - The White Panda

The boys are back with another banger. Honestly, it's all gold from The White Panda. This time, they mix up some Tom Petty with Notorious B.I.G. Yes, I know, this sounds awful on paper, but as always, The White Panda manage to make a masterpiece out of it. Enjoy.

Nightmares (Video) - Julius Myth

The Myth Man drops some fresh visuals for one of my favorite tracks off his latest mixtape, Day Of The Deadbeats. Real simple video, but it's really effective in showcasing Julius's lyrics. Shot/edited by the the always dope Jon Kilmer. Enjoy, and if you haven't download it yet, check out Day Of The Deadbeats.

Not Too Far Away (Mixtape) - Trey Palms

I love this. The highly anticipated (by me at least) mixtape from Trey Palms. Now, in case you have been under a rock, Trey Palms is an amazing artist based out of Maryland. In case you didn't know, Trey Palms and HotLeaks actually go way back together. Back when HotLeaks was just a baby, I fell in love with Trey's mixtape, While You Were Sleeping. I know that sounds kind of weird, but it's true. The entire mixtape was an amazing showcase of what hip-hop was (and still is) to me. A true lyrical showcase with amazing melodies to back it up. The perfect mix. Not Too Far Away is the exact same way in my opinion. Great lyrics, wicked beats, and catchy hooks. Fantastic. Check out a couple of my favs (that you haven't heard before) then you need to download the entire tape. Enjoy.

Be Alright - Trey Palms

Dreamer - Trey Palms

In Your Eyes - Trey Palms ft. Timeflies

Same Song - Trey Palms ft. G. Sharma

Download: Not Too Far Away

Strange Clouds - B.o.B ft. Lil Wayne

This is unreal. Easily one of my favorite tracks in a while. B.o.B's new single off his upcoming album leaked, and it has an amazing feature, from the one and only, Weezy. The beat is insane. It's got a whole heavy dub feel, with classic B.o.B synth. Plus, both Weezy and B.o.B spit hard all over the track. A dope single to leak. Enjoy.

Download

Love Never Lost (Video) - Raw Facts ft. Sha Sha Jones

Now I had never heard of Raw Facts before I got sent this track, but if the rest of his stuff sounds anything like this, I'll be impressed. Raw Facts is an emerging artist out of Maryland, and is a fresh face to the DMV scene. Now, this track doesn't actually pick up until about the 1:15 mark, but then Raw Facts comes in hard with some wicked flow, and fantastic lyricism, and then grabs Sha Sha Jones for a really catchy hook. Overall, a really good track. I will be on the watch for more from Raw Facts. Enjoy.

Sick N' Wavy (Video) - IamG Chuck Revere

I have no idea why I love this track so much. I haven't heard of IamG, but I do know Chuck Revere, so when he posted this joint, I had to check it out. The beat is unreal. Perfect party track. I will be honest, not a ton here in terms of meaningful lyrics, but it is unbelievably catchy. So much so that I've actually played it about 10 times since I found it earlier this morning. In the words of Chuck Revere, this track is "So Gnarly". Enjoy.

Smile Back - Mac Miller

For his second single off his upcoming debut album, Blue Slide Park, Mac drops some visuals to go along with it. He just dropped this one yesterday, and it already has almost 500,000 views. Once again, a solid single to drop, with some pretty dope flow. Mac Miller really is taking to world by storm. Enjoy.

Dear ______ - Kam Royal

Short but sweet. Dear ____ is Kam's new joint, dedicated to anyone who has ever ended a relationship. This whole track (all 1:30 of it) is smooth, filled with Kam's amazing flow and lyrics, and really hits hard. Dear _____ isn't actually off Kam's upcoming tape, so it's more of a teaser to where his sound is at. Enjoy it.

When We're Done (Video) - XV

As always, Vizzy gives me another reason why he is one of my favorite artists out right now. A fantastic video, for easily, one of my favorite tracks off his album Zero Heroes. I have huge hopes for Vizzy, and I would love to see him really take off. Anyway, bottom line, great video from a great artist. Enjoy.

Bullshittin On My Coffee Break - The Jane Doze

This is sick. Once again, mashers take note. A few weeks back, Zed's Dead dropped a new track, Coffee Break (which is dope), but I just never got around to posting it. Now, The Jane Doze take that unreal beat, and splice it with some vocals from Big Sean, Bullshittin, and create a whole new, insane track. These girls know how to mix. Anyway, I'll let the track speak for itself, so enjoy.

No Thanks (Video) - Ground Up

This is one of those videos that suits the track perfectly. Tough track, with a tough as hell video. In case you missed it, Ground Up dropped their mixtape, The Get Down, just a couple days ago. If you haven't already, check that out for sure. Enjoy the visuals.

All The Way - OnCue

Cuey is about to blow, so get familiar. As always, this new track is so dope. Cuey has such a wicked, original sound that separates him from the mess of other artists out there right now. When an OnCue track comes on your iTunes, you know it's him without a second guess. Overall, a great track, with some fantastic lyricism. Plus, I'm a huge fan of this video. Simple, smooth, but I love the way it splices digital static. Some people may not like that, but I think it was extremely well done. Anyway, grab the track below, and get excited for Can't Wait. Enjoy.

The Ugly Show (Mixtape) - James Wade

When I first got word about James Wade a little while back, with his track Lights On!, I didn't really know what to think. I can tell you that he did grab my interest, enough so to download his new mixtape. I was actually pleasantly surprised by the quality of this entire tape. James Wade holds his own with his unique flow, and really kills some of these tracks. I can see him grabbing a huge following soon, so watch out. Anyway, check out a few of my favorites below, then cop the whole tape.

Empty Body - James Wade

Cash Rules - James Wade ft. Kassidy Henderson

Cheers - James Wade ft. "TVs" Devon Wade, Lauren Eylise, Aaron Grant, Emily Cooper, Justin McSwain, & Keyaira Hill

and of course, the track that pulled me in:

Make That Money - Macklemore x Ryan Lewis

I always forget how much I love Macklemore's flow and Ryan Lewis production skill. Every time my iPod goes on shuffle, and one of their tracks comes on, I need to listen to it, because no matter my mood, I know I will enjoy it. Now, time to talk about this track. Really, it's just as dope as every other one that they have released. Amazing beat, with Macklemore's signature fantastic flow. I know you'll enjoy this one.

Together - Skizzy Mars

He's back, and as always, Skizzy Mars kills it. He has such a dope sound, but somehow still manages to keep it original on every track. Skizzy also has a great story telling lyrical ability. You can't help but listen to the story he spits. Anyway, new track, check it out.

The Get Down (Mixtape) - Ground Up

This whole tape is so dope. Ground Up, in case you don't know, is a dope hip-hop trio out of North Philly, consisting of the producer Bij Lincs, and two emcees Azar and Malakai. Their sound is sick, and is one of those that is really distinct from the rest, which I dig. The Get Down is a solid mix of heavy beats and smooth melodies, rough vocals and tight flow. Overall, I was extremely impressed. Expect to hear more from these guys. Here are a couple of my favs, then go cop the entire mixtape.

Scars (Prod. by Big Z) - Ground Up

13th Floor (Prod. by Bij Lincs) - Ground Up ft. Farz & Bij Lincs

This Is (Prod. by Bij Lincs) - Ground Up

Downtown (Prod. by Bij Lincs) - Ground Up

Download: The Get Down

Tonight Is The Night - Outasight

Every single song this guy releases ends up on repeat for me, and this one is no different. Fun fact about this new track, it's actually in a new pepsi commercial. That's pretty huge if you ask me. So in case you've been sleeping, jump on this Outasight train. No DL link as of yet, so you'll just have to enjoy on youtube (and in a pepsi commercial)

Willie Dynamite - Mac Miller

Another HUGE milestone for Mac Miller and his #Road2AMillion fans. 900,000. Almost there. Once again, he drops a celebratory track, and I'll be honest, this one has to be one of my favorites of his milestone tracks by far. Enjoy.

We Are Nothing (Album) - Radical Something

It's here. It's finally here. Radical Something started at the beginning of this summer as the dream child of Loggy, DJ Big Red and Josh Cocktail. These guys set out to truly create a musical movement, and I can honestly say that I think they succeeded. Every track up to this point has been just a tease of this great album. Filled to the brim with feel good vibes. I know, that sounds cheesy, but it honestly is. Anyway, enjoy the album.

Freedom - Radical Something

Hey Babe - Radical Something

Escape - Radical Something (Yes, I know you've heard it, but it was my summer anthem)

Download: We Are Nothing from iTunes or for free

Dead Presidents (Video) - Tarik

I am more and more impressed by this guy after each track I hear. Tarik's lyrical ability is great, and his flow is on point, and he does surprisingly well on this classic Jay-Z beat. This is actually the last single he's dropping before his mixtape, T.R.I.G.S. comes out on the 26th. Enjoy, and then get excited for his upcoming mixtape.

Last Man Standing (Video) - Asher Roth ft. Akon

This video was so well done. The art style is unbelievably original, and I was hooked until the end. I know you know the track already, but in case you don't, I put a DL below. Enjoy.

Young Sinatra (Mixtape) - Logic

In case you don't know him, Logic, who I first heard of with his track Mind Of Logic, is an emerging hip-hop artist out of Maryland. This kid has some serious lyrical ability, which is really refreshing in this saturated world of hip-hop. Logic has a flow that is so on point, his delivery is so fresh, and he has an ability to grab samples that is unreal. This may be a bold statement, but Young Sinatra reminds me why I got into hip-hop. Anyway, check out a couple of my favorites, but you seriously need to download this one. Enjoy

Let Me Go - Logic ft. Lykke Li

One - Logic

Are You Ready - Logic ft. Phil Ade

Beggin' - Logic ft. C Dot Castro

Download: Young Sinatra

Sense Of Fulfillment - Uno Hype

Uno Hype is back with, once again, another great track. It's been a little while since we've heard from this 18 year old kid, but he finally decided to bless up with some new music. Sense Of Fulfillment has a real smooth, laid back feel, with some dope lyrical ability from Uno, like always, so overall, it's a pretty sick track. This little gem is actually a little taste of what's to come on Uno Hype's up coming mixtape, From The Ground Up, which I know will be great. Anyway, enjoy the new joint.

The Scotch Tape (Mixtape) - Timeflies

Yes. It's here. The HIGHLY anticipated mixtape from Timeflies. The Scotch Tape is truly dope. The entire tape goes down so smooth. Every beat is unreal, every line is mint. It really did live up to my expectations. Every track is great, and I am yet to find one I don't like. The whole feel on the tape is much more refined than I thought it would be, which is great. It really lives up to it's name. Honestly, after I heard of Timeflies for the first time on a Trey Palms track, I never thought they would have blown up like they have. Seriously, these guys are about to be the next big thing, so enjoy.

Until The Sunrise - Timeflies

Fade - Timeflies

For You - Timeflies

Everything I Do - Timeflies

Download The Scotch Tape for Free
or
Support these great artists and download The Scotch Tape from iTunes

Bonfire - Childish Gambino

Now, I never do this. Post those radio ripped, tagged up tracks. I have always hated listening to tracks with sub-par quality, with tags over top, but I figured I would make an exception this time. BRAND NEW GAMBINO. Yes, I know your as excited as I am. This is a radio(clean) rip with tags, but honestly, I love it. Gambino does his thing like always, and the track is FILLED with signature flow. I am so pumped for Camp, his upcoming album. Enjoy.
**UPDATED w/ CD Quality... hell yeah!**

Midnight Life - The White Panda

Everyone's favorite team of mashers is back, and as always, they kill it. This time they splice together the classic vocals from Good Life by Kanye and T-Pain, with the haunting beat from M83's Midnight City. Enjoy.

All Systems Go (Video) - The Dean's List ft. OnCue

This video was extremely well done. Honestly, it was a visual treat. I know that sounds kind of cheesy, but really, this video was shot/edited unbelievably well. So it's a perfect match, a dope video for a dope track. In case you've been hiding, go download The Dean's List latest mixtape, The Drive In. Enjoy.

All I Need (Remix) - PJ Simas ft. Cal (Of Timeflies)

PJ Simas hits us with the final track from his End Of School Remix Series, which makes sense since school is back in. This one is a remix of a dope track from his latest album, Triple Play, where he grabed Cal from Timeflies for a dope hook and a verse. PJ takes the original and gives it a whole new feel to it, which is pretty dope. Enjoy. AND, a mini-mixtape of PJ's entire End Of School Remix Series should be coming soon.

Vamos A Los Levels - The Friendly Giant

This is hot. A perfect track for you Friday night. A really high energy mashup. This is one you need to blast and just rock out too. It also helps that it's extremely catchy. Not many people know about The Friendly Giant, so I suggest if you like what you hear, check him out on facebook. Enjoy.

Suit Up (Sponsored Mixtape) - Gate City Squad

I am proud to present you, an amazing mixtape by amazing artists, sponsored by yours truly. Suit Up is the highly anticipated mixtape from Gate City Squad. This one has been in the works for a few months now, and let me tell you, it was well worth the wait. I'm not biased in the least when I say this, but I really loved every single track on this one. Every beat is tailored for each individual song. Every verse suits the feel of the track. I understand now why it's called Suit Up. This is one hell of a debut mixtape. If you have ever doubted the guys in GCS (which none of you probably have, but just in case), this mixtape will change your mind. Anyway, you can stop reading now, and just check out a couple of my favs below, but then definitely download the whole tape.

So Fly - Gate City Squad

Lifestyle - Gate City Squad

Never Let It Go - Gate City Squad ft. Tarik

Everything - Gate City Squad

Download: Suit Up

Plus a treat! Some visuals for So Fly. So dope.

Mr. Nice Watch - J. Cole ft. Jay-Z

Pardon my french, but how the fuck did I miss this one? I can't apologize enough for being late on this one. Amazing single from Cole, with an equally as amazing feature from the one and only, Jay-Z. I know you'll like this one. Enjoy it.

Life Coach - e-dubble

Some brand new e-dubble. If your like me, you probably won't even read what I'm writing, you'll just see NEW e-dubble, and press download without even questioning. If you don't do that, I guess I can tell you a bit about the track. e-dubble is once again so raw with his lyrics, his flow is so smooth, and the beat on this one is heavy, but mellow. Enjoy.

Lights On! (Video) - (I Am) James Wade

The verdict is out on this one. When I first heard it, I thought it was just another remix of Lights. I gave it another chance, and now, every time I listen, I start to dig it even more, so it's actually pretty dope. (I Am) James Wade is an artist born in Georgia, and has actually opened for guys like Wiz, Big Sean, LMFAO and even MGK. Pretty big things. Anyway, peep the video.

Hoop Dreams (Mp3) + Wichita (Video) - XV

My man, Vizzy is a real man on his grind. He said he was doing things, and here they are. First off is a dope new original track. Hoop Dreams is a real smooth joint, but XV is sick as always. Second is a video Vizzy released a little while ago for his track Wichita, off his latest album, Zero Heroes (which seriously, you need to download). Simple visuals, but really just a big homage to his home town. Enjoy

Loosen Up - Outasight

I love this. Plain and simple. I am so glad a friend of mine told me about Outasight, otherwise I would be missing out on amazing tracks like this. In case you've been hiding under a rock, Outasight is a great artist out of Yonkers, NY. He's got an amazingly catchy sound that I can promise will get stuck in your head. One of those guys who has a little bit of a different sound as well, which if you visit the site, you know I love. Anyway, enjoy the new track.

Air - DJ Beemer

In case you've been sleeping, DJ Beemer is a mash artist based out of NY, and has actually only been mixing for just over a year. He's got a real raw sound to him, but still not an amateur by any means. He knows how to splice up tracks, blend them, and truly make them his own. Check out his latest mix, Air, of Alesso & Ellie Goulding. Enjoy.

If you like what you hear, check him out on Facebook and Twitter.

No Thanks - Ground Up

Ground Up with another tough track. This time they go at it alone, with no features, but they wreck it. The beat is real heavy, and the flow is on point. This is their second single off their upcoming mixtape, The Get Down, dropping on the 20th, so get excited.

"Like" Ground Up on Facebook
"Follow" Ground Up on Twitter

Zero - Olu

Olu is back again, and he kills it once again. No hook, just pure non stop flow. His rhymes are always so smooth. Zero is off Olu's upcoming mixtape, Cover Letters, which I know will be dope. Check this one out for sure.

Push And Rise (Remix) - Sam Adams

It`s been more than a minute since we`ve heard from Mr. Sammy Adams, but it somehow feels like he was never gone. He`s back with his signature dub-hop sound that`s sure to make your head bob. No real explanations on this one, because you know what your getting. Enjoy.

Download

Let It Fly (Remix) - Maino ft. Ace Hood, DJ Khaled, Jim Jones, Meek Mill, Roscoe Dash, & Wale

This right here reminds me of when I first got into rap. A dope track, with features from pretty much everyone and their mothers. To be honest with you, it doesn't even get dragged down like most remix tracks do. Just check it out and enjoy.

Tuesday, September 13, 2011

Shot Clock - Aer

It's been a minute since I have posted anything from the boys in Aer, but I really couldn't pass on this one. Aer puts such a smooth twist on the banger of an Avicii track. It's so easy to press repeat on this one. Enjoy, I know you will.

Massive Music (Mixtape) - FlyRydaz

A party tape for you. This one came out a few weeks but I was just able to get my hands on a DL link that DIDN'T take 2 hours to download. Massive Music isn't actually bad. I know FlyRydaz really don't get that much exposure in the blog world, but really, here is some extremely catchy music. Most of the tracks are real upbeat and guaranteed to get stuck in your head, but there are a couple slower tracks that the FlyRydaz actually do real well on. Anyway, I'll stop talking about it, and let you build your own opinions, so check it out.

Dance Floor Filth (Mixtape) - 3LAU

Is it Friday yet? Honestly, this tape is dope. It just makes me want to rage all day. We first heard of 3LAU with his sick mix, Yacht Week In America (which honestly whenever it comes on my ipod, I need to listen to it). I'm pretty sure every single track on this tape I like. In case you don't know, 3LAU is mashup artist out of Las Veags. He is now studying at Washington University, so he's just in college and putting out amazing mixes. Seriously, mashers take note. When you can listen to a mixtape from one end to the other and enjoy every second, clearly it's dope.

Dancing In The Backseat - 3LAU

I-3low - 3LAU

Girls Who Save The World - 3LAU

Download: Dance Floor Filth

Bowery Poetry Room (Video) - Childish Gambino

A final treat for your Sunday night. Some new Gambino shot at the Bower Poetry Room earlier tonight.. A little slower vibe than most of his other tracks, but I think it's purely because of the live atmosphere. Not filled to the brim with classic lines, but still has tons of  them. Anyway, new Gambino is clearly in the works, so get excited.

Three Brand New Drake Tracks

Drizzy dropped 3, yes 3, new tracks over the weekend, and to be honest I had no idea until I saw them all over the web a few minutes ago. I'll say upfront that I'm sorry for missing these ones. These were released to get us excited about Drake's upcoming album, and let me tell you, he succeed, because Drake was trending like crazy this weekend. Now, I'll be honest, I'm a fan of 2 of these tracks, but not so much of the third. I will leave it up to you to figure that one out, but here are all 3

Club Paradise - Drake

Download

Free Spirit - Drake ft. Rick Ross

Download

Round Of Applause - Waka Flocka & Drake

Download

They Call Me - Bei Maejor ft. Mike Posner

Dope little treat for your Sunday night. Some "brand new" Bei Maejor. I say that with quotes because a version of this leaked a little while back without Posner. Anyway, this new track has some sick bars from Bei Maejor (as always) as well as a sick hook + verse from Posner. Unbelievably catchy, and hopefully the rest of his upcoming mixtape has the same great sound. Press play, and enjoy.

Boy Meets Girl (Video) - Sean Sack

Now before you attack me for this being old news, hear me out. I've been sitting on this one for a while, waiting to get my hands on an MP3. I still am waiting, but screw it, you can enjoy the video for now. This track is real catchy, and Sean Sack (who I had never heard of before this track popped up on my radar) has some sick flow. Watch out for this one. Enjoy.

Toes (Video) - Lights

This is a little different, but when I saw this, I was in love. First off with Lights, then with the track itself. Catchy and is definitely going to be big, if it isn't already. Anyways, a little bit of a pop-y sound to spice up your Friday night, so enjoy it.

Friday, September 9, 2011

In Bloom - The Good Husbands

It's been a little bit since we've heard from The Good Husbands, but this track was too dope to pass up. Going over an amazing sample, the boys put together a great track. Check it out below.

Thursday, September 8, 2011

I Won't Grow Up (Video) - Upper West

This is actually Upper West's first video, so huge props for that. Other than that, some great visuals to match up with a great track. The visuals are simple, but well done. A ton of shots of the boys just goofing off, and not growing up, all shot/edited by Jon Kilmer. Check it out, and enjoy.

Hangover (Prod. by The Two Friends) - Trey Palms

Not much explaining needed. We all know Trey Palms is unreal, and this track is no exception. Hangover is a little bit more laid back than his previous releases, but it's still equally as great. It just shows off his versatility as an artist. This is actually Trey's last drop off his upcoming mixtape, Not Too Far Away, which I can guarantee you will be amazing. Check it out, and I know you will enjoy it.
