I'll be honest, it seems like De-Lor came out of nowhere. Just a couple weeks ago I got a little email with an amazingly smooth joint on it, then a few days later, I received a fantastic track with a huge feature from Kinetics. Now you see his name all over the blogs. In case you slept, De-Lor is a great emerging artist who has such a smooth sound that you can't help but enjoy. This is actually is his debut mixtape, and let me tell you, it's one hell of a way to start off. Every track is extremely enjoyable to listen to. Anyway, I'm not going to try and hype this one, I'll just let you listen for yourself. I know you'll enjoy it.
This is gorgeous. When an artist can completely change their style for a track, and then to proceed to knock it out of the park, you know they are good. Erik Paul really switches it up on this one. He slows down for a smooth acoustic track dedicated to a girl who is clearly special to him. This right here is a true artist shining. Enjoy it, because I know I did.
Such a banger. I've actually had this track for a few weeks now, but I've only had a radio rip with tags all over it. Finally, I was able to get my hands on an actual version. Seriously, this track is so dope. I can see this being a HUGE track from Britain's best. Check it and Enjoy.
Yes, you read that right. Now, I know I don't normally post stuff like this, but I figured I had to. Back in May, I posted a video of Taylor covering an Eminem track, live in concert, which was awesome. Now, about a week ago, I saw that during a live concert, Taylor Swift broke out into a classic track, Yeah, and brought out Usher to sing along. When I saw this, my Jr. High days came flooding back to me. More importantly, it inspired me to create this list. 4 reasons why I want to go to a Taylor Swift concert.
EKG bless up with some brand new visuals, for easily one of my favorite tracks off their recent EP, Laugh It Off. In case you missed it, Bottle is one of those tracks that tells a story of sorts, and the video, is well, a video of the story. It actually had me hooked for the entire thing. Check out the video, and if you haven't yet, grab the EP Laugh It Off. Watch out for these guys, they're doing things. Enjoy.
It's been a minute since we've heard from Crystal Seth, but I kept my ear to the ground, and it was well worth it. This gem is a drop off Seth's upcoming mixtape, Left On Freeport, which is dropping on October 14th. From what I have heard. Crystal Seth has really been growing into his sound, and I can see big things coming for him. Check out the track, and be on the watch for the tape.
New MGK. I'll be honest with you now. I'm super pumped that MGK got signed to Bad Boy, but ever since then, his releases have been kind of sub par in my opinion. This is his first track that I have actually enjoyed in a little while. I still think MGK is a sick artist, so nothing about that has changed in that sense. You can hate on me, but I'm allowed my opinions. This is actually rumored to be a release off MGK's upcoming tape, Rage Pack, which hopefully is sick. Check it and enjoy it.
I was listening to my iPod the other day, and an IanJ track came on, and I thought to myself, hey, it's been a while since i've heard anything new from him. Little did I know that a few days later he would release some brand new visuals for his sick song Lead You On. Check it, and enjoy it.
Now this is wicked stuff. Great track from a new up and coming artist, De-Lor, based out of Boston. Now, I definitely slept on this artist. De-Lor has a fantastic sound. It's heavy like R&B, but it has some pop influences, but overall, it's extremely enjoyable to listen to. Plus, on this track, he grabs a couples HotLeaks favs, Kinetics & One Love, so it has to be good. Enjoy.
***Plus, another treat***
De-Lor actually sent his stuff my way a few weeks back, I downloaded it, but it really just got lost in the mix. It kept coming up in my itunes, and every single time, I would have to listen to it. It was so smooth, and so catchy, but like I said, it got lost in the mix, so I never posted it. For that, I'm sorry, because this really is a fantastic track. Plus, it has a real simple, elegant video to go along with it. Enjoy this one.
I am impressed with this one. Mike Stud actually killed this tape. I have come to really like Mike Stud, AKA the self proclaimed King of Frat Rap, but it's no secret that he gets a bad rep here and there. Originally, I thought he was all one liners, but then I came to realize he was much more. A Toast To Tommy is a testament to that. There really is a track on this tape for everyone. Smooth spitting tracks, catchy pop tracks, heavy bangers, and of course party tracks. Overall, I really enjoyed this one. Plus, GCS did a ton of production on this track, so you know the beats are dope on those. Here are a couple of my favs, but definitely cop the whole tape. An amazing rookie mixtape if you ask me.
Still hot off their recent mixtape release of Merp Nation (which is still on repeat on my ipod), the boys in New Linen drop a brand new track for our listening pleasure. As always, its filled with smooth melodies, and sick flow. Check it out, and enjoy it.
I don't know what it is about this track, but I'm hooked. A little bit of a change of pace from what I normally post, but really, it's my site, so I'm going to post the music I like. This one is from an artist I hadn't heard of until I got his email. Bombs and Bottles is a House/Electro/Pop/Dubstep artist out of NY. I really like his sound on this track, and if his upcoming EP sounds anything like this track, I'll become a big fan of Bombs and Bottles. Check out the track, and enjoy it.
This is sick. The beat is real eerie, and almost sounds like it's played in reverse, which is pretty dope, so props to Tim G for the production on this track. And as always, Eddy B's flow is on point. Check it out, and enjoy.
It's been a little bit since we've heard from Matt Clarke, but he comes back hard with this dope track. He also grabs a couple of others from the Black Book Music Group to help him out. Hendersin for a hot verse, and Sex Ray Vision for the production. I'll be honest, the track starts a little dicey, but if you just wait it out and it gets pretty dope. Matt Clarke actually just signed with BBMG, so expect to see more of his name popping up around the web. Enjoy the track.
I'll be honest, I really don't know a ton about this track or this artist. I do know its from a new artist who goes by the name Kid Crusade. Other than that, I really don't know that much. Great sample of Norah Jones, and some sick flow. Check it, and enjoy.
**Update** Got some info on this ish. Kid Crusade is an artist out of Richmond VA, and has actually only been doing hip-hop since December. Pretty dope sound for such a fresh face. Also found out that this track is actually a single off his upcoming EP Madulamblagambiance, which I will definitely be keeping an eye out for.
