West Side Stories (Mixtape) - Upper West

Wow. Just wow. Here we have Upper West's amazing debut mixtape. I have been a fan of these guys since back in May when they first dropped their track Ladida. Every track that they have ever dropped has been fantastic, and they all are in regular rotation on my iPod. They have such a great sound that to me, they have been around forever, and are essentially seasoned vets to the game. In actuality, West Side Stories is their debut mixtape, and what a way to debut. Overall, this tape is unreal. Filled with non stop great tracks that I guarantee you will have on repeat. I actually enjoyed this one so much that I really had trouble picking out a few to call my favorites. So here are a few tracks for you to enjoy before you download the whole tape. Enjoy.

Ass Back Home (Timeflies Tuesday) - Timeflies

After a couple weeks on the road, Timeflies is finally getting their asses back home. To celebrate, they give us an amazing Timeflies Tuesday where they remix, you guessed it, Ass Back Home. Rob gives the track a refreshing twist and mix, and Cal spits perfectly over top. For the video, it's the normal shots of Cal freestyling (this time, on the tour bus), but they decided to slice in some shots from their shows, which is pretty dope. Anyway, I know you already pressed play, and probably didn't even read this far, so enjoy. Ass Back Home (Timeflies Tuesday) - Timeflies

The Rhetorical Tradition (Mixtape) - Matt Easton

I love when this happens. Now, I have been a fan of Matt Easton for a long while now. I feel like I've said this a lot lately, but he was actually one of the first artists who I posted back when HotLeaks first started back in '10. I'm a huge fan of his sound, and I feel like every track that he's dropped has been really enjoyable to listen to. The first joint I heard was Live Life, and from that point on, I was a big fan. The only problem is that Matt always seems to fall just under my radar, which really sucks because he's such a great artist. What I am getting at in a really round about way is that I really had no idea that this mixtape was coming, so it was a pleasant surprise when I saw it earlier today. I just got a chance to sit down and give it a listen, and I was impressed. An all around really solid mixtape from Matt, that really showcases his maturity and growth as an artist. Below are a few of my fav, then you should definitely go download the whole tape. Enjoy it.

Comets - Marc Goone

My man Marc Goone is back with another unreal track. This is another drop off his upcoming tape Halfway To Nowhere, which is on track to be one of the tapes that I'm most excited for this year, so far. Comets is all about the daily grind of life, along with all it's up and it's downs. A great track from Goone that is clearly written with a lot of heart. Plus, this video is extremely well done and really captures the feel of the track, which as you all know, I love. Anyway, enjoy the new ish from Goone, and be on the watch for Halfway To Knowhere, coming soon.

Walking Alone (Big Z Remix) - Dirty South

I'll end the night with a little electro banger for you. Some band new Big Z. This time he takes the heavy banger Walking Alone by Dirty South and gives it more of an upbeat electro feel, which is dope if you ask me. I am a huge fan of what Big Z does, whether it's creating unreal remixes of hip-hop and pop tracks (his Can't Get Enough mixtape) or mixing great tracks like this. So, enjoy the great new track, and check out Big Z.

I'm Good - Grynch ft. Sol

It's been a while since I have posted any new stuff from Grynch and for that I'm sorry, because he has seriously been on his grind. This is his latest gem and he actually teams up once again with the extremely talented Sol. In case Grynch is a new name to you, he's a great artist based out of Seattle and has been in the music game for a few years now. He's got an unreal flow and fantastic lyricism that you just cant help but enjoy. This joint is off his upcoming tape Perspective, which is actually dropping this friday, so I'm pretty pumped for that. Anyway, enjoy the great new track.

What Did You Do - Chiddy Bang

A drop from Chiddy Bang that wasn't on their Breakfast album. Now, I'll be up front, the hook on this is just brutal. The flow from Chiddy is unreal and Xaphoon's beat is tight so I guess it makes up for the crappy hook, which is probably why I keep pressing repeat on this one. Enjoy.

Say Yes (Video) - Radical Something

When I bought Radical Something's latest EP, I was blown away. These guys really know how to make enjoyable music. Now, I loved every track on No Sweat, but this track was probably my favorite. Say Yes is extremely catchy, and you can't help but sing along, so when the boys dropped this video for it, I was all over it. It's all done in shot, is actually pretty hilarious, and just like the track, it's enjoyable to watch, because you can tell that the guys are just enjoying life. Anyway, enjoy the video, and if you haven't yet, you need to download No Sweat on iTunes (6 tracks are well worth $2.99). Say Yes (Video) - Radical Something

Gimme That - Eddy B & Tim Gunter

Some brand new Eddy B and Tim Gunter for your listening pleasure. After their last drop (Young Superstars), I couldn't wait to hear what they released next. Let me tell you, they did not fail to impress. This new one is a little bit harder than their last track, but it's still comes off dope. Eddy B spits straight fire all over Tim G's extremely addicting beat. A great track from great artists so enjoy.it.

Celebrate (Remix) - SonReal

SonReal has been killing it lately. This time he jumps on Common's beat Celebrate, and to be honest, he actually holds his own on it. SonReal sounds so comfortable on this track and he manages to make it sound as if the beat was his own. I am so glad that I stumbled on SonReal. He was actually one of the first artists who was featured on HotLeaks back in '10, as well as one of the firsts I started to watch regularly for music.  Anyway, enough of me being nostalgic, so just enjoy the great new track, and get excited for Good News.

Cut Me Off - Cam Meekins

This is hot. Cam Meekins is back again, and he kills it. I said it with his last drop, but this track makes me think that Cam is working on something big. To be honest, Cut Me Off is a little bit more heavy hitting than what you might be used to hearing from Cam, but he pulls it off perfectly. I really like where he is going with his sound. Now, I will say that the visuals are a little odd, but they are still really enjoyable to watch. A great new track, from a great artist. Enjoy.

Jet Plane - Jazz Cartier

Now here's a name I haven't seen in a while. Jazz Cartier. In case you don't remember him, Jazz is a fantastic up and coming artist who is based out of Toronto. He has a real smooth and fluid sound paired with fantastic lyricism, and is just overall enjoyable to listen to. From what he says, the reason Jazz has been absent is that he's been focusing on school and has been pretty much isolated from civilization. This is off his upcoming project Marauding In Paradise, which I am pretty excited for. Anyways, enjoy the new track.

Keep It Lit (Video) - KA5UM

A good friend of HotLeaks, KA5UM, dropped some new visuals for his latest mash Keep It Lit. A classic mash video that really captures the feel of this track. It was actually put together by the same guy who does videos for Kap Slap and 3LAU, so clearly KA5UM is making some waves, so if your not familiar by now, you should be. Enjoy.

Girls Talk (Mixtape) - The Jane Doze

I have been waiting anxiously for this one since first hearing about it. The Jane Doze finally drop their mixtape, Girls Talk, a 12 track masterpiece. Six tracks we've heard before along with six brand new ones, all of which are oozing awesomeness. I have said it before, but these girls know how to create amazing tracks, because I am yet to hear one from them that I don't like. Anyway, if you enjoy mash tracks, if you love remixes, or if you want to rage on a Monday night (or whatever other night), this is the tape for you. Enjoy it.

Night Sky (Video) - Beau Young Prince

I already told you that I loved this track when it dropped a few weeks ago, so when I saw that Beau Young Prince dropped a set of visuals to accompany it, I had to check it out. A great video to go along with a great track. I said it before, but in case you missed it, this gem is off YP's upcoming tape, Dream Catcher, which I know will be great. Anyway, enjoy the new video.
